Is Your Wi-Fi Playing Hide-and-Seek?

Ever notice that your Wi-Fi works great in the living room… but completely disappears in the bedroom or kitchen? You’re not imagining things. Wi-Fi signals are just tiny radio waves, and certain rooms (or their contents) can block them more than others.
A few common culprits:
Thick or old walls (especially plaster with metal lath): These can absorb or reflect the signal.
Appliances and pipes: Kitchens and bathrooms have a lot of metal that weakens Wi-Fi.
Distance from the router: The farther you are, the weaker the signal, especially if you’re on a different floor.
Interference from neighbors: In apartments and condos, nearby Wi-Fi networks overlap and compete.
Here are a few simple things you can try:
Move your router up high and into a more central location if possible.
Avoid placing it next to other electronics or appliances (e.g., don’t place it behind the TV, next to the microwave…).
Restart your router if the connection suddenly gets sluggish, sometimes they just need a little refresh.
If you use an extender, make sure it has a strong signal; otherwise it just extends a weak one.
If the Wi-Fi ghosts still haunt certain rooms, don’t worry, there are great solutions like mesh systems, access points, and smart placement tricks. I’m happy to take a look at your home layout and recommend the right setup.
